linguistic diversity in education

from problem to resource

Our mission is to advance every child's right to learn and use the language of their parents. This right was defined in the Article 30 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.

"The Convention changed the way children are viewed and treated - in other words, as human beings with a distinct set of rights instead of as passive objects of care and charity."

Multilingual normality

Most people in the world use more than one language. It is normal for humans. How else could we trade, travel, negotiate, collaborate? Some of us grew up with several languages. Others learned new languages during their life time. Many would like to learn a new language.

Why don't we have good services for all these people? That is because our perception of their needs is fragmented:

  • Hundreds of separate language minorities.
  • Second language speakers.
  • Foreign language learners.

Together we have the numbers to create the services we all need.

We are mainstream. No need for charity. This is social economy.
